World Retail Congress 2016

The World Retail Congress brings together the leaders of the global retail industry from the greatest retail icons to the most innovative start-ups and disruptors; from national market leaders to the most international. In 2016, ZigZag Global was awarded the Innovation Award.


The PostalPitch Startup Innovation Award

The 2018 PostalPitch™ competition was chaired by Bernhard Bukovc of the Postal Innovation Platform and the jury included Thierry Golliard, Director Open Innovation & Venturing, Swiss Post; Olaf Klargaard, Director, Innovation, Geopost; Karlijn Krol, StartUp Scout, PostNL Innovation Studio; Gary Reblin, Vice President, Product Innovation, USPS; Farzin Shadpour, Vice President and Managing Director, Supply Chain, PlugandPlay and Elmar Toime, Chairman Postea Group.

The award criteria was based on innovation, value and impact. The winning solution needed to be able to identify new, so far unmet customer needs with a unique value proposition, good cost – benefit ratio, a robust business model and market entry strategy with significant value proposition.

Bernhard Bukovc said “The judges gave a clear vote and selected ZigZag, which provides a solution in an area that is of utmost relevance for postal and logistics providers – returns. We had some strong entries, but we believe ZigZag has the capability to be a game changer, with an impact on the industry, the environment and society.”


ShopTalk Europe Startup Award €25,000 Winner

ZigZag Global is pleased to announce that it won the 2017 StartUp Award – and the Judges Award of €25,000 at ShopTalk Europe at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen. ShopTalk drew over 2000 visitors from all over the world.

Judges were impressed that ZigZag has managed to cut costs of returns by over 57% and refund customers in just 24 hours. Returns on the portal take less than 60 seconds and the solution is now available in over 200 virtual warehouses worldwide.  ZigZag attracted interest from many of the world’s leading brands at the sold out retail showcase.

Hundreds of hopeful startups from all over the world were shortlisted to just 13 entries from seven countries for the final round of judging. The judges spent time analysing each retail and software solution and researching the candidates before each company took to the stage to present their solutions in front the retail audience.

ZigZag was named as the business the 4 VC judges would be most likely to invest in.


IRX 2017 Innovation Award

ZigZag Global is pleased to announce that it won the 2017 Innovation Award at Internet Retailing Expo (IRX) at the NEC in Birmingham. IRX is the go to event for online retailers of all sizes in the UK.  It is an unmissable two days of thought-provoking content for 5,000+ visitors to learn, network and discover the latest multichannel retail trends and innovations.

There were a number of strong companies on stage at the event and we are honoured and delighted to win the popular vote from the over 300 retailers in the room. Well done team!


FTA Sustainability Innovation Award, Milan

ZigZag Global is pleased to announce that it has won the 2017 Sustainability Innovation Award at Fashion Technology Accelerator’s ‘Rethinking Fashion Sustainability’ conference in Milan. Based in Silicon Valley, Seoul, and Milan, Fashion Technology Accelerator (“FTA”) is a global infrastructure for fashion technology entrepreneurs. FTA is a competence centre and an early adopter of the digital revolution that is transforming the fashion and luxury industry.  FTA Milan is specifically focused on sustainability in fashion and how the introduction of new technologies can drive a reduction in global carbon emissions.


London Technology Week

As part of London Technology Week,  ZigZag was up against tracking solution, Parcelive in a one-on-one pitch battle. Finalists were judged on their business concept, team, achievements, business model, financials & proposition, and a final “freestyle” round. Having won the London round, ZigZag now progress to the UK national finals to be held later this year.


Retail Week Tech and Ecomm Awards

The Retail Week Tech and Ecomm Awards are the definitive awards for retailers who are setting the agenda in etailing and IT. ZigZag Global was a finalist in the Innovation of the Year Award in 2016.


Alpha Startup Web Summit

The Alpha Startup Web Summit is Europe’s largest technology marketplace. More than 50,000 attendees will be at Web Summit, including more than 15,000 companies discovering and learning about what new software and hardware can transform their businesses.


Retail Week Supply Chain Awards

The Hermes Retail Week Supply Chain Awards 2016 are all about applauding those retailers, suppliers or individuals who are re-inventing all aspects of the modern retail supply chain, from delivery and logistics, to technology and talent development. ZigZag Global was awarded the Mark of Excellence for the DP Disruptor of the Year at the Supply Chain Awards 2016.


E-Commerce and Innovation awards at the World Post & Parcel Awards 2018

Returns Software platform ZigZag Global is delighted to have won both the E-Commerce award and the Innovation award at the World Post & Parcel Awards 2018. The World Post & Parcel Awards is the global platform to recognise and promote mail and express excellence. Mail and express operators from all over the world competed to win these highly coveted awards, covering the key areas of mail and express operations.

Judges were happy to award ZigZag for the E-Commerce award sponsored by PostEurop, stating that “the issue of handling returns effectively is becoming increasingly important in the global e-commerce market. The winning entrant has developed a platform that makes the process easy for the end customer whilst also helping the retailer get products back into their supply chain more quickly and profitably.”

For the Innovation award, the judges said: “This is always one of the most popular categories and there is no shortage of new ideas emerging in the logistics industry. In overall terms however, the judges are driven by initiatives that are significant, that carry or will have weight. The judges found all the shortlisted entries worthy but selected a winner based on its solution to a global logistics challenge.”
