Happy 5th Birthday, ZigZag, and many happy returns!
This week ZigZag Global will be blowing out five candles in celebration of five fantastic years as the leading returns technology in retail and eCommerce.
With fashion returns rates in 2015 rising, a reliable reverse logistics solution was quickly making its way to the top of retailer’s shopping lists. Founded that year by Al Gerrie and Laurence Guy after initial funding from a successful crowd-funding campaign on Crowdcube, ZigZag Global addressed this growing returns headache. By the end of 2016, ZigZag’s solution had claimed 4 industry awards and started to grow its worldwide network.
Composed of some of the high-street’s most renowned fashion brands – including Topman, Topshop, and Dorothy Perkins – Arcadia Group were among the first large retailers to transform their returns process through ZigZag in 2017. After two more years of picking up accolades from the likes of ShopTalk, Shop.org, and the World Retail Congress, ZigZag welcomed new brands to its platform including Soletrader, GAP, Banana Republic, and Selfridges. The SaaS platform’s unrivalled technological capabilities and data-analytics-driven reporting was backed up by a substantial network boasting 220 warehouses and 100 carrier services across 130 countries.
At the start of 2019, ZigZag became one of the first to offer a paperless returns solution for its retailers via Royal Mail, ASDA, CollectPlus, and Hermes in the UK, which cut warehousing processing times by up to 50% and has saved millions of paper labels to date. Ellen MacArthur Foundation member ZigZag’s sustainable credentials were furthered when Europe’s largest circular economy fund Circularity Capital invested in the company, with Maersk following suit later in the year. Processing millions of returns over 2019, ZigZag added key integrations into its platform including cartridges for Magento, Shopify, SAP, Salesforce, ChannelAdvisor, BigCommerce, Linnworks, Peoplevox, and many more. Today ZigZag is widely recognised as the most advanced solution on the market and now supports almost 200 carrier services across 195 countries, and ZigZag partners with fabulous brands including Superdry, Secret Sales, Rebellious Fashion, plus many more.
